SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Construction of 69 kV Structures for the 18" Blending Line - Contract 8, to Schulte TA, Inc., in the Amount of $99,600.00.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the Regional Water Extension, an 18" blending line is being installed in the same right-of-way as the City of Gillette's northern 69 kV transmission line. In the event of a main break near the corners of this transmission line, it was deemed necessary to replace the current three pole wooden structures with self supporting single steel structures.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

2 bids were received and read aloud by the City of Gillette Purchasing Division at 2:00 P.M. on March 15, 2017.  The bid results are as follows:

 

Schulte TA, Inc. - $99,600.00

Maslonka Powerline Services of JRD, LLC - $426,064.25

 

Engineer's Estimate - $111,049.09

 

Funding will come from Madison District Projects Account # 301-70-72-441-70-47414, which funds all of the Regional Water District Extension Projects and includes 67% WWDC Grant Funding.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I Move for Approval of the Bid Award for the Construction of 69 kV Structures for the 18" Blending Line - Contract 8, to Schulte TA, Inc., in the Amount of $99,600.00.
