During the March 28, 2017 Council Work Session, the operations of the operations of the compost program offered by the City of Gillette was discussed. As part of those discussions, a recommendation was made to increase the prices charged by the City of Gillette for compost. Currently, "bio solid" compost is sold by the City at $10.00 per cubic yard, and "yard waste" compost is sold by the City at $15.00 per cubic yard. In order to limit financial losses within the program, and to update the pricing schedule for compost sold by the City, Council requested a resolution to increase the rate to $20.00 per cubic yard for all compost sold by the City.
In addition, a discussion was held with regard to limiting the total amount of compost available to sale by any one person, entity or organization to fifty (50) cubic yards per month. This provision is also incorporated into the Resolution. |
