SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Gillette Madison Pipeline Project, Contract #2b to Hot Iron, Inc., in the Amount of $6,426,027.33.
BACKGROUND:

This project consists of the installation of approximately 6.75 miles of 14-inch raw waterline, 0.59 miles of 30-inch raw waterline, two pre-manufactured well houses, one pre-manufactured control valve building, two permanent pumping equipment installations, and all associated appurtenances necessary to connect wells M-11 and M-12 to the transmission line at the Pine Ridge Disinfection Facility.  This project will take place primarily in the State section located to the north of the Pine Ridge Disinfection Facility.

 

The City Purchasing Division opened bids for the project on April 6th, 2017, at the City Warehouse.  The following six bids were received:

Morrison Maierle, Inc., reviewed the bids and determined that Hot Iron, Inc.'s bid had no errors, provided the lowest bid, and provided all of the necessary documentation during the bid process.  They provided the attached bid award recommendation for review.

ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The Engineer's Estimate at the time of bidding was $6,835,697.70. This project is eligible for reimbursement from the Wyoming Water Development Commission and will be paid for by 67% grant and 33% CAP Tax. A concurrence letter from the Wyoming Water Development Office is attached.
