The previous WYDOT Highway 50 Widening Project from Highway 14/16/59 to Lakeway Road included City of Gillette participating in widening the proposed 5' wide sidewalk on the east side of Highway 50 to include an additional 5' to provide a 10' bike path in accordance with the City's Parks and Pathways Master Plan.
The City was only responsible for costs associated with the additional 5' concrete pathway surface and the associated aggregate base material. WYDOT has been designing the next section of the Highway 50 Widening Project from Lakeway Road, south to Southern Drive and anticipates construction in 2019. WYDOT is once again offering the City to take advantage of completing the Master Planned Pathway for only the cost of widening the sidewalk an additional 5' (concrete and aggregate base course).
Option 1 proposes a 10' wide pathway from Lakeway Road, south to West 4-J Road at an estimated cost of $266,400.00 and is approximately 1.3 miles long.
Option 2 proposes to widen the sidewalk to a 10' wide concrete pathway the full length of the project at an estimated cost of $354,090.00 and is approximately 2 miles long.
The Council shall select either Option 1 or Option 2 and the corresponding exhibit for the selected Option will be attached to the Cooperative Agreement. |
