SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Sinclair Street Median Landscaping Project to G & G Landscaping, Inc., in the Amount of $72,355.25 (1% Project).
BACKGROUND:
The Sinclair Median Landscaping Project consists of the renovation of the landscape in the three (3) Sinclair Street medians located in front of the Gillette College.  This project includes the removal of the existing turf in the raised medians and replacing the turf with landscape rock.  This project will also include the planting of an additional 18 trees, 15 bushes, and 102 perennial plants.  The project will also modify the existing irrigation system so that it can operate with the new xeriscape landscaping. 
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-70-47301 (Beautification Programs) in the amount of $120,000.

Bids were opened and read aloud on August 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division.  There were two (2) bids received for the Project.

The bid results are as follows:

G & G Landscaping, Inc.                                      $72,355.25

Connely's Scenic Landscaping and Nursery            $72,896.96

The design of this project was done in house by the City of Gillette Engineering Staff.  The Engineer's Estimate was in the amount of $81,327.00.

It is recommended that the bid, in the amount of $72,355.25, be awarded at this time.

I move for Approval of a Bid Award for the Sinclair Street Median Landscaping Project to G & G Landscaping, Inc., in the Amount of $72,355.25 (1% Project).
