SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement for Design and Bidding Services Associated with the Winland Industrial Park Improvements Project, with DOWL, in the Amount of $51,680.00 (1% Project).
BACKGROUND:
This project would upgrade the existing water system within the Winland Industrial Park so that it can meet the minimum fire flow requirement of 3500 gpm and replace existing sanitary sewer mains that have settled and do not flow properly. Included with the water system upgrade would be the removal of the master meter, installation of any additional curb stops and meter pits required, looping of the water system to meet minimum fire flows, and any surface restoration required. This project funding includes the $400,000.00 State Land Investment Board (SLIB) Consensus Funding grant and the Landowner Association Contribution of $100,000.00.  The design would begin immediately with an anticipated projected bid opening of March 21, 2018.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The cost for this Design and Bidding Professional Service Contract is $51,680.00 which is 5.6% of the estimated construction cost of $919,000.00 for the Winland Industrial Park Improvements Project. The contract will be funded from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account #201-10-05-419-70-47440 and includes $400,000.00 State Land Investment Board (SLIB) Consensus Funding grant and the Winland Industrial Park Landowner Association Contribution of $100,000.00, which provides for a total budget of $1,060,000.00 for this project.
