| Council Consideration for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Pavement Management Systems 2017 - Schedule A Project, Installed by S & S Builders, LLC, in the amount of $757,235.43 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
The Pavement Management System 2017 - Schedule A Project (17EN14) included construction in two (2) areas. The project included the rehabilitation of the pavement section on West Sixth Street from South Gillette Avenue to 300' past Warren Avenue, and East Fifth Street from South Gillette Avenue to Emerson Avenue.
The 6th Street repairs included a new concrete road surface and eliminated some of the cross slope of the road by the addition of a block retaining wall along the Campbell County Parking Garage. The 5th Street repairs included the addition of upgraded concrete sidewalk, valley gutter, handicap ramps and curb and gutter. The road surface includes a full asphalt pavement reconstruction from Kendrick Avenue to Emerson Avenue.
The project was designed to be completed in seventy (70) working days and the project was completed on time. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
Funding for the Project has been allocated in the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.
The original contract price was in the amount of $765,199.75. There was a total of six (6) change orders on the job with a net decrease in the amount of $7964.32. The change orders included the addition of electrical conduit, storm sewer modifications, additional landscaping, additional asphalt and final quantity adjustments. The final contract price on the project was $757,235.43. |
