SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Alley Pavement Management System 2018 Project to Hot Iron, Inc., in the Amount of $334,644.58 (1% Project).
BACKGROUND:
The Alley PMS 2018 Project includes the rehabilitation of the alley surface and related infrastructure in the alley south of West 10th Street between Stocktrail Avenue and Rohan Avenue.  This project will include the removal of the existing alley surface and replacement with a concrete surface.  The project will also  include the installation of approximately 400 feet of new sanitary sewer line and 200 feet of replacement sanitary sewer line.  The water infrastructure will be improved by replacing a small section of  water line in the area including one water service and a new fire hydrant.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

Bids were opened and read aloud on December 20, 2017 at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division.  Four (4) bids were received on the project.

The bid results are as follows:

Hot Iron, Inc. $334,644.58
S & S Builders LLC $426,303.00
DRM, Inc. $350,803.25
Powder River Construction $377,780.00

The Engineer's estimate, prepared by PCA Engineering, was in the amount of $277,392.78.

The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331 in the amount of $400,000. 

It is recommended that the bid in the amount of $334,644.58 be awarded at this time.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move for Approval of a Bid Award for the Alley Pavement Management System 2018 to Hot Iron, Inc., in the amount of $334,644.58 (1% Project).
