Council Consideration to Authorize the Mayor to Sign the FY 2018 Transportation Alternatives Program Grant Agreement Between Wyoming Department of Transportation and the City of Gillette for the Dalbey Park to Gillette College Pathway, Phase 2 (1% Project).
BACKGROUND:

On July 5, 2017, the Council passed a Resolution authorizing the submission of an application for a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant to WYDOT to construct a new pathway from the Highway 59 Bridge adjacent to Fishing Lake, to College Park Court. This item is the Agreement to receive funds to pay for 80% of the project.

The TAP grant  is in the amount of $480,000.00 and the local match is $120,000.00. The City will be using Optional 1% Sales Tax funds to cover the local match and other costs associated with the construction in account 201-10-05-419-70-47406. The City is required to expend the funds and will be reimbursed based on invoices provided.

Construction for this phase of the pathway is planned for spring of 2019.

ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

The total budget for this project is $600,000.00, of which $480,000.00 will be reimbursed by the TAP grant.  The funding for this project has been allocated from the Optional 1% Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-70-47406 in the amount of $120,000.00 for the City's match.

I move for Authorization of the Mayor to Sign the FY 2018 Transportation Alternative Program Grant Agreement Between Wyoming Department of Transportation and the City of Gillette for the Dalbey Park to Gillette College Pathway, Phase 2 (1% Project).
