SUBJECT: |
Council Consideration for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Gillette Madison Pipeline Project, Contract 4e, Installed by Garney Companies, Inc., in the Amount of $19,261,088.33. |
BACKGROUND: |
The work completed under this contract is a new 42-inch Transmission Line from the previously installed 42" pipeline at Pine Ridge to Moorcroft with a total length of approximately 12 miles. This pipeline is on the west side of Highway 14 to the north side of the Belle Fourche River, at which point follows the existing 30" Madison pipeline to the D Road. The pipeline then follows the D Road to the interstate and connects to the previously installed 42" pipeline along Highway 51. |
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
The original contract amount of $19,614,100.00 and $353,011.67 was deducted from the contract by one change order, which added a cattle guard, fencing and gate changes, additional erosion control, deducted failing soils testing costs, and the final balancing of quantities. This change order was project eligible and was reimbursed through the 67% grant and 33% local match (loan and CAP Tax), with the exception of $5,800.00 for the installation of a cattle guard which was made part of an easement agreement with a landowner. The remaining amount was paid for by CAP Tax funds.
