On 02/24/2018 at 1507 hours, Officer Stuber & Officer Fitzner were dispatched to an EMS call. The caller informed dispatch there was a 42 year old female in and out of consciousness. While officers were responding, the caller told dispatch the female was no longer breathing. Both Officer Fitzner and Stuber arrived on scene within 5 minutes of the 911 call.
Officer Fitzner began to assess while Officer Stuber prepared the AED. Once the AED analyzed, it recommended a shock. One shock was delivered, Officer Fitzner and Officer Stuber started CPR. EMS arrived on scene and both officers helped them with their equipment.
Officer Stuber followed the ambulance to the Emergency Room and Officer Fitzner remained on scene. We learned later in the day, the female was showing on her EKG, a myocardial infraction (heart attack).
On February 28, Sergeant Eric Dearcorn spoke with the Paramedic on scene. She said the female was improving and the quick response from the officer definitely saved her life.
