| A Proclamation Designating Friday, April 27, 2018, as the City of Gillette's Official Arbor Day - Wendy Clements |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The City of Gillette will observe Arbor Day on the last Friday in April along with National Arbor Day. This marks the 26th year that the City of Gillette has achieved Tree City USA designation from the Arbor Day Foundation. The Forestry Division along with area Veterans, State, County and School District Arborists and the Parks Division will plant five trees, one for each major military branches. |
| SUGGESTED MOTION: |
| Now, therefore, I, Louise Carter-King, Mayor of the City of Gillette, do hereby proclaim, Friday, April 27th as Arbor Day in the City of Gillette, and call upon all citizens to support our City's Urban Forest Program; and further, I urge all citizens to plant and care for trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this and future generations. |
