| Council Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement for Design and Bidding Services for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Digester Tank Coating Project with Morrison-Maierle, Inc., in the Amount of $22,198.00. |
| BACKGROUND: |
The interior steel surfaces of both digester tanks at the City's Wastewater Treatment Plant need to inspected and/or coated. These tanks are critical components in the wastewater treatment process. The inside of these tanks are exposed to high gas concentrations within a highly corrosive environment. Recoating the steel surfaces of the interior of these tanks will extend their useful life. Depending on the quality of the coating application, we typically inspect and coat these types of surfaces once every 8 to 12 years. Morrison Maierle has experience with the City Utilities Department preparing specifications and bid documents for specialty tank coating projects like this. Morrison Maierle prepared the attached Professional Services Agreement for consideration by the City Council. |
