| Council Consideration of a Resolution for the Submittal of a Grant Application for the 2019 Sewer Main Replacement Project to the Office of State Land and Investments in the Amount of $952,350.00. |
| BACKGROUND: |
This Grant Application to the State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB Board) for $952,350.00 is intended to help fund the City of Gillette's annual program to replace deteriorated or failing sections of the sanitary sewer collection system. Projects are generated through maintenance records and video inspections developed by the Wastewater Division personnel. The replacement projects are prioritized and replacement occurs as funding will allow.
This project has identified replacement of 3,000 LF of 8" vitrified clay sanitary sewer main, and 200 LF of 12" vitrified clay sanitary sewer main. The 8" sanitary sewer mains that will be replaced are along Warlow Drive from Valley Drive to Parkview Apartments, American Lane from Buckskin to 150' East, Buckskin from Kluver Road to Rawhide, and Buckskin from American Lane to 120' North. The 12" sanitary sewer main that will be replaced is 1st Street from D&S Detailing North to the Fire Training Center. The existing deteriorating vitrified clay sanitary sewer mains will be replaced with 8" and 12" PVC pipe. The location of the new sanitary sewer mains will generally be within the same footprint of the existing sanitary sewer mains. Included with these sanitary sewer main replacements are surface restoration of the pavement and curb and gutter where the new mains will be excavated.
This project design is estimated to start in October 2018 and be complete in March 2019. Construction of the main replacements is estimated to start June 2019 and be completed in September 2019. |
