| Council Consideration for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Alley Pavement Management Systems 2018 Project, Installed by Hot Iron Inc., in the Amount of $319,312.57 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The Alley PMS 2018 Project (18EN01) included the rehabilitation of the alley surface and related infrastructure in the alley south of West 10th Street between Stocktrail Avenue and Rohan Avenue. This project included the removal of the existing alley surface and replacement with a concrete surface. The project also included the installation of approximately 400 feet of new sanitary sewer line and 200 feet or replacement sanitary sewer line. The water infrastructure was improved by replacing a small section of water line in the area including one water service and a new fire hydrant. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
| The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331 in the amount of $400,000.00. The original contract price was $334,644.58. There were a total of two (2) change orders on the project which included the addition of some sod and the addition of an asphalt patch which resulted from construction traffic. The project overall came in under budget with a total cost of $319,312.57 which resulted in a savings of $15,332.91. There were a total of 14 days added to the contract because of the additional asphalt patch and the delay when the gas company had to lower an existing gas line. The project ended on time and under budget. |
