The Large Asphalt Patch 2019 Project includes the repair of asphalt at locations across Gillette.  The areas originally included Rourke Avenue, Hidden Valley Road, Force Road between Wilson Way and Hidden Valley Road, JZ Court, Emerson Avenue, Warlow Drive near Lakeland Hills Drive, the alley from 6th to 7th Streets between Osborne and Carey, and Vanscoy Drive.

Due to the available budget, patches on Hidden Valley Road, JZ Court, and Vanscoy Drive will be removed from this scope of work and be repaired under a future scope.

The City of Gillette Engineering Division assembled this project and will perform the project management and field inspection services.  An outside consultant will provide materials testing services.

On September 4, 2018, the City Purchasing Division received bids for the Large Asphalt Patch 2019 Project. Simon Contractors was the sole bidder with a bid of $184,222.00.  The Engineer’s Estimate was $138,720.00. The bid has been reviewed and no errors or irregularities have been found. The bid amount of $184,222.00 is more than the budget available for this work.  To bring the project into the budget, the work on Hidden Valley Road (TR-2), JZ Court (TR-7), and Vanscoy Drive (TR-11), will be removed from this scope resulting in $45,860.75 cost reduction. The proposed amount for award would be $138,361.25.  Simon Contractors has been consulted about the  proposed change in scope and cost and has agreed in writing to these changes. The agreement is attached. The 25 working days allowed to reach substantial completion will remain unchanged. The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.
