| Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Base Bid and all Three (3) Alternates for the Roadway Beautification Project to G & G Landscaping, Inc., in the Amount of $219,162.56 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
The Roadway Beautification Project (18PK18) includes the beautification of four (4) areas including the intersections of Westover Road and South Burma Avenue, east and west portions of Westover Road and 4-J Road and the east side of North Gurley Avenue between East Lincoln Street and East Warlow Drive. Improvements in these areas include, but are not limited to, the installation of trees, shrubs, and perennial plants, as well as concrete, lighting and fencing improvements. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
Bids were opened and read aloud on March 07, 2019 at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division. Three (3) bids were received on the project.

The Engineer's estimate, prepared by KLJ Engineers, was in the amount of $382,378.50
The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331 in the amount of $275,000.00
The low bid was well under the budget for the project. There are no specific reasons for the bid coming in so low other than that it was consistently low on most bid items. G & G Landscaping feels confident in their bid and stands by the price they submitted. It is recommended that the base bid and all three (3) alternates in the amount of $219,162.56 be awarded at this time. |
