Council Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement for Construction Management Associated with the 2019 Pavement Management System Project, with PCA Engineering, Inc.,  in the  Amount of $279,261.00. (1% Project)
BACKGROUND:

The 2019 PMS Project will include the reconstruction of 5th Street from Emerson Avenue to Highway 59, Gurley Avenue from Kluver Road to the north corporate limits, and Kluver Road from Boysen Creek Drive to Garner Lake Road.

 

Fifth Street will include the reconstruction of the pavement and repair of miscellaneous curb, gutter, and sidewalk.  The construction on 5th Street is to start no later than July 15 and was allowed 45 working days to complete.

 

Gurley Avenue will consist of the reconstruction of the pavement including the addition of curb and gutter with storm sewer to the northern half of the project. The construction on Gurley Avenue is to start no later than September 1 and was allowed 45 working days to complete. 

 

Kluver Road will consist of widening and repaving the existing rural road.  Widening will facilitate the addition of safety runoff shoulders.  This work is to begin no later than May 1 and has been allowed 95 working days to complete.

ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

Simon Contractors was awarded the construction contract for the project in the amount of $2,949,480.25 at the March 19, 2019 City Council Meeting.

 

PCA Engineering designed the 2019 PMS Project and has provided a construction administration scope for the project.  This scope includes engineering support, construction observation, surveying, and materials testing.

 

PCA Engineering has submitted a construction administration budget of $279,261.00.

 

The funding for this project has been allocated  from the Optional 1% Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.

I move for the Approval of a Professional Services Agreement for Construction Management Associated with the Pavement Management System 2019 Project with PCA Engineering, in the Amount of $279,261.00. (1% Project).
