This project consists of installing approximately 2050 LF of sanitary sewer main replacement in the following areas:

1.  Side lot easement from 1st Street across BNSF ROW to the Fire Training Center.

2.  Warlow Drive from Valley Drive to the Parkview Apartments.

3.  American Lane from Buckskin Drive to 150' East.

4.  Buckskin Drive from Kluver Road to Rawhide Drive.

5.  Buckskin Drive from American Lane to 120' North.

The City of Gillette, Purchasing Division, opened bids for this project at the City Warehouse on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 2:30 P.M.

The following table summarizes the bids received and the Engineer's Estimate.

BID IRREGULARITIES

The three bidders on the project were Hot Iron, Inc., LJS Concrete & Excavating, and DRM, Inc.  All bids were submitted on time and had the required Bid Bond.  All three bids also included a Residency Certificate.  No irregularities were found that would justify rejection of a bid.

Based on the above evaluation, HDR recommend that the City of Gillette award the project to Hot Iron, Inc. at the bid amount of $811,670.47.

CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE

The total construction cost for this project was estimated at $1,010,802.00 and was prepared by HDR. The low bid received from Hot Iron, Inc. was $811,670.47, approximately 19.7% or $199,131.53 lower than the Engineer's Estimate.

BUDGET

The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-70-47420 and is fully funded.

CONTRACTORS REVIEW

Hot Iron, Inc. has no apparent problems with their bid.
