Council Consideration of a Street Closure on Gillette Avenue, from 1st Street to 2nd Street, on Saturday, June 29th from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. for a Coal Country Gravel Grinder Bicycling Event, Festival, and Concert, that will Include an Open Container Permit and Outdoor Music, Requested by David Bauer of Energy Addicts. |
BACKGROUND: |
David Bauer, in conjunction with Big Lost Meadery, is requesting to close the first block of Gillette Avenue for an event that will include 3 long-distance bicycle races and an evening concert in front of Big Lost Meadery. Events throughout the day would include food vendors, a corn hole tournament and other similar yard games.
Bike races will begin at 6:00 a.m. Evening events will include a band, located in the alley between the Center Bar and Big Lost Meadery, facing toward Gillette Avenue, and music is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m. An open container permit will be issued to allow patrons of the bars to bring open containers outside to enjoy the evening festivities. |
