SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Animal Control Temporary Facility Remodel to Skyline Builders in the Amount of $74,340.00.
BACKGROUND:
The Animal Control Temporary Facility Remodel project is located in the building adjacent to the animal control building.  The project includes installing drywall finishes with new paint on the walls, cleaning up the existing bathrooms, adding some new office doors, adding a entryway divider wall and new flooring in the existing building. This work is needed to temporarily house the Animal Control Facility when the main building is being remodeled.  
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

Bids were received April 25th, 2019.  2 proposals were received:

Skyline Builders - $74,340

Hladky Construction - $76,670

Engineers estimate - $90,000

 

CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE: The total construction cost for this project was estimated at $90,000 and was prepared by the City of Gillette Engineering Division. The low bid from Skyline Builders was $74,340, approximately 17% lower than the Engineer’s Estimate.

 

Budget: This project is fully funded from the General Fund under account 001-10-04-419-70-47210
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move for award of the Animal Control Temporary Facility Remodel to Skyline Builders, in the amount of $74,340.
