The City entered into an agreement with KLJ for a conceptual design of the proposed Energy Capital Sports Complex Playground and Splash Pad on September 9, 2019.  The results of this work were presented to Council at the October 8, 2019 Work Session.

The Council expressed interest in completing the design and bidding the project, with bid alternates to allow a scaled back version of the playground limited to $2,000,000.00 estimated cost and a full version as presented which had a preliminary estimated cost of $3,272,749.60.

The final Design and bidding contract includes detailed design and specifications for the playground and splash pad, as well as preparation of contract documents and contract administration up to and including the opening and evaluation of construction bids.  The agreement price for this work is $192,500.00.  The preliminary conceptual design agreement was for $20,000.00, bringing the total design cost for the proposed improvements to $212,500.00.
