Each year, the American Society of Safety Professionals honor Individual members with a Safety Professional of the Year Award that recognizes outstanding contributions to a specific practice specialty and common interest groups.
Our City of Gillette Safety Manager, Randy Milliron was nominated by one of his peers for this honor in the “Public Sector” and was awarded the Safety Professional of the Year in this practice specialty. Because of this nomination, he is now in the running for the overall Safety Professional of the Year.
To qualify for this award, nominees need to demonstrate knowledge and expertise by results derived from activities in their practice specialty and safety accomplishments. They must be in good standing with the American Society of Safety Professionals, they need to make professional contributions to the organization and demonstrate leadership.
Randy has presented at the National Safety Conferences such as the ASSP, the Bureau of Certified Safety Professionals, the National Safety Council and Society of Human Resource chapter meetings. He not only presents but also volunteers in these societies.
Randy has obtained his Safety Management Specialist credentials in 2019 and is a certified Emergency Medical Responder. He has been certified in Mine Safety, Occupational Hearing Conservation, and also MSHA as an instructor. He has been working for the City since January of 2016 and has been in the Safety profession since 1997.
